We all want to live happy, successful lives, right?
Yet, according to Jacob Jolibois (who wrote this fantastic article for lifehack.org - 16 Reasons to Reduce Your Mobile Dependence), we are wasting up to 22 full days a year on our phones (aka social media, apps, and the like).
Shocked? I know I was!
Like a lot of people I have a lot of hobby's I want to spend more time on, I want to exercise more, I want to build my business quicker and more creatively, I want to achieve more ... and yet I am potentially wasting up to 22 days of my life on Bejeweled as I take a 10 minute break, that in reality becomes a half an hour break of procrastinating distraction! My mind boggles at what I could be creating, participating in, and/or engaging with if I lifted my head up and actually became more accountable for my time.
Imagine how different your life would be if you engaged directly with the world, instead of artificially through your phone!
I am issuing a challenge to you for the next four weeks ... it's not hard, I'm asking for just one day a week where you do not turn on your phone, look at social media, or play any apps or games at all! This, of course, does not include any calls you have ... but if you have a call from a friend who lives on the other side of town, why don't you arrange to meet up for a coffee somewhere instead of just chatting for an hour on the phone? Let's try to be a little more human peeps, instead of cyborg?!?
