At the age of 6 I remember it was finally the school holidays.
It was late .... or late for a 6 year old, but Mum and Dad were letting me stay up to watch, what seemed to be, the family favourite of movies ......
A warm summers night, the fans were rotating a full pelt, and glasses of coca cola were sweating on the coffee table, and I was sprawled out on the multi-striped carpet, a cushion under my head, and my limbs splayed like a starfish. The opening intro started to scroll up the screen.
That iconic Star Wars music belted out of the speakers. My hear leapt with excitement - we were about to go on the Star Wars adventure again, and I couldn't wait.
Of course there was Luke and Han, Obiwan and Chewie, but I was waiting for you, the one character that I could identify with, the one character that I dreamt, maybe one day, I could be.
Princess Leia's hologram flickered out of R2-D2, "Help me Obi-wan Kenobi. You're my only hope."
RIP Carrie Fisher.
